The sweatlodge is an ancient ceremony that can be found all over the world. In North America you find the Inipi, in Siberia the Chadir. But also the Savu sauna, the mother of the Finnish sauna, is nearly identical to the sweat lodge.

The sweatlodge ceremony is so vastly rich, that the possibilities seem endless. Even before entering the lodge, the tabacoties, the stone ceremony, the crackling fire and the warming stones help you to awaken yourself and enter a deeper state of consciousness. And when one enters the blanket-covered lodge, closes the door, and one is cloaked in ceremonial darkness, with none but glowing stones and fragrant cedar, then a space is created wherein all the impossible becomes possible. The outer coatings of the ego melt away and the deeper layers of the soul awaken.

The sweat lodge helps you to restore contact with your spirit. This makes you realise that you are not separated from the earth, the animals, the stars, and the people around you, but that you are deeply connected to everything existing in the universe. And because of this connectedness, it is possible to receive direct living knowledge in an instant, and to learn to understand your own life.
